The year was 1951, and the world was about to witness the first documented visit by an alien from another planet. George Adamski, who claimed to be an astronomer and scientist, reported meeting a visitor from another planet, near Palm Desert, CA. Adamski claimed that the visitor was named Orthon, who hailed not from Mars, but from Venus. Orthon wore a tan, one-piece jumpsuit, had a long page-boy haircut, and had traveled to earth via flying saucer. During their conversation, Orthon expressed fear for the future of Planet Earth, ending the conversation by saying, cryptically “Boom boom!” Since 1951, the legend of this first “documented” extraterrestrial visit to Earth has only grown, giving rise to a cottage industry of publishing and art to celebrate Orthon’s visit from Venus. Offered here is a custom print of Orthon meeting George Adamski, with a quality copper tinted pine frame to accent the hues contained in the print. The print features Orthon’s flying saucer, a detailed rendering of Orthon, including his jumpsuit and stylish long hair, and George Adamski, set against the haunting desert landscape. This piece is sure to be a conversation starter, documenting a watershed moment in the history of Planet Earth. And who knows? Maybe George Adamski really did meet a Venusian visitor named Orthon back in 1951. Boom boom! Measures 23”H X 31”W.
