On October 15th, 1979, President Carter and the beloved First Lady, Rosalyn Carter, headlined a Democratic Party fundraising dinner at McCormick Place Convention Center in downtown Chicago. The city’s first female mayor, Jane Byrne, hosted the evening and Representative Dan Rostenkowski and powerful Cook County Board of Commissioners President George Dunne were among the dignitaries This framed placard was obtained directly from the Banquet Hall after the dinner, despite the objections of the Secret Service. The framed placard measures 25.25” H X 19.5” W in an oak frame.
