In late 1960, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was elected the 35th President of the United States and served with distinction, until he was felled by an assassin’s bullets on November 22nd, 1963. Less than two hours after his death, Lyndon Baines Johnson was sworn in as President, and won a landslide re-election over Barry Goldwater in 1964. Robert F. Kennedy, brother of the slain President, was the leading candidate to succeed Johnson until an assassin took his life in the kitchen of Los Angeles’ Ambassador Hotel on June 5th, 1968. Authentic, original buttons for all three Presidential campaigns are offered here in an attractive walnut frame, 5.75” H X 13.25” W.
