For seven years during the 1970’s, the WHA took on the NHL, hoping to become the second major hockey circuit. In 1973, the Toronto Toros dropped the puck for the first time, hoping that playing in hockey made Toronto key to their success. Alas, the Toros lasted just three seasons before moving to Birmingham, AL. Playing just three seasons in a league that lasted seven, more than forty years ago, makes this button rare and unique.
