On December 28th, 1991, defending national champion Colorado squared off against one of the country’s most storied college football programs, the Alabama Crimson Tide. They met in Blockbuster Bowl II, named for the defunct video rental company, at Joe Robbie Stadium (now Hard Rock Stadium) outside of Miami. The Tide rolled the Buffs in this second edition of a very short-lived bowl game. (Just four Blockbuster Bowls were played.)
