On December 23rd, 2006, the San Jose State Spartans defeated the hometown New Mexico Lobos before a crowd of more than 34,000 in the New Mexico Bowl. Spartans star receiver James Jones caught two touchdowns and earned MVP honors. The game was played at Frosty University Stadium in Albuquerque, NM and was San Jose State’s first bowl win outside the state of California.
