On October 20th, 1978, a slender seventeen-year-old named Wayne Gretzky scored his first professional goal in just his fourth game, beating Edmonton goalie Dave Dryden on a backhander in the second period.  Gretzky – not yet dubbed “The Great One” - scored his second career goal just thirty-four seconds later, before a paltry crowd of 6,288 at Market Square Arena.  Gretzky would score more than 1,000 professional goals and earn the title, “The Greatest Player of All-Time.”  This beautiful reproduction, with sewn/stitched names and numbers, the Racers crest, and collar tie-down, is a splendid tribute to greatness.  Plus, Gretzky played just eight games for the Racers, rendering this jersey a historical hockey artifact.
