The 1984 Summer Olympics saved the Olympic movement, following the boycott in Moscow 1980, the financial fiasco at Montreal ’76, and the terrorist attack at Munich ’72. Under the direction of Peter Ueberroth, the L.A. games were a financial, competitive and TV success. Offered here is a four-pin set, commemorating competition in Long Beach, and featuring the ’84 Olympics mascot, “Sam The Eagle.” These four original pins are offered in a glassed, white, desk or shelf frame, and features the ‘84 Olympics logo on a gold presentation piece. This collectible is in Mint+ condition, a valuable piece of sports history.
