An Egyptian pound, or piastres, is the Democratic Republic of Egypt’s official currency. This 25-pound piastres, issued by the Central Bank of Egypt, features the Eagle of Saladin, or Egyptian eagle, on one side. On the reverse is the Sayeda Aisha Mosque, a key house of worship in the Muslim faith, which contains the mausoleum of Sayyed Eisha. This gorgeous note, from the late 20th century, is in Near Mint/Mint condition, unwrinkled with straight corners.
