Is there anybody who hasn’t seen at least one episode of Leave It To Beaver? The family comedy ran on network television from 1957 to 1963, featuring Jerry Mathers as “The Beaver,” and can be viewed today in syndication. Famed children’s author Beverly Cleary brought this hit TV series to the written word with this second of her two Leave It To Beaver books, Here’s Beaver. Kids will revel in Beaver’s pratfalls, the touching relationship between brothers Wally and Beaver, and a colorful cast of friends. Cleary wrote more than 40 books during her career, which culminated with a Library of Congress Living Legend Award. She passed away at age 104 in 2021. The pages have yellowed – typical for a vintage paperback, but are solid, along with the cover. This is a great book for collecting or sharing with your children. A confession: we’ve read it!
