On October 8th, 1996, the Colorado Avalanche raised their first Stanley Cup Champions banner at McNichols Sports Arena, having swept the Florida Panthers for the title earlier that year. This unique puck, one of just 996 pucks sold at the arena, came with instructions to use as a phone calling card, making this a “Phone Puck.” The puck features a reproduction of the championship banner that was raised to the rafters that night, and which is still on display today at Ball Arena in Denver. The Avs have championship pedigree, but this puck is a valuable, limited-edition souvenir of that very first Stanley Cup.
